Syamsudin is a research scientist at PT. Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (PT. RAPP), in Pelalawan, Riau. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in silviculture, forestry from Institut Pertanian Bogor in 2015.

His proposed study is forestry; specifically, genetic testing of offspring in progeny trials of breeding populations in order to identify superior genotypes of trees for commercial deployment.

Upon completion of the program, he will return to his current employer, PT. RAPP and continue to conduct genetic testing.

For his Master’s degree program, Syamsudin is placed at North Carolina State University to study forestry.
