Fulbright Scholar Dr. Darryn Diuguid visited the University of Jember in January 2018 to share teacher preparation presentations such as performance assessments, classroom management and curriculum development. He also facilitated discussions when faculty members shared their research project proposals. The presentation titles were “Performance Based Assessments: What Are They and How Do You Use Them in Your Classroom, Best Practices in Classroom Management and The Basics of Curriculum Design.” The main outcome of this exchange was sharing teacher preparation tools and ideas from the USA.
The second day was spent having University of Jember faculty members explain their research project proposals. As a result of that day, faculty members and Dr. Diuguid are collaborating on a number of research projects including a comparative study on first year students in the USA and Indonesia. Other faculty members are seeking advice from Dr. Diuguid about their research projects, and it is expected that other research projects will continue in 2018.
