Dillon Dunn received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2018.
Under the Fulbright US Student Research Program, Dillon is in Yogyakarta to begin his research project “The Architecture of Pilgrimage”, where he analyzes the ancient and contemporary architecture of Central Java through the theme of pilgrimage to better understand how buildings accommodate religious traditions while also responding to socio-cultural and ecological change. Dillon hopes that this research will help equip architectural researchers and professionals with data related to Indonesia’s rich collection of religious architecture that cultivates a greater understanding of the ways in which architecture evolves over time.
During his Fulbright grant, Dillon is affiliated the Department of Architecture and Planning at Universitas Gadjah Mada.
