In March, ETA Jason Yan brought an engaging and interactive lesson to the 11th graders at SMK Krian 2 Sidoarjo. The lesson focused on the essential communicative skill of “Asking and Giving Opinions,” a topic that encourages students to express their thoughts clearly and confidently in English.

Throughout the session, Jason introduced common phrases and expressions used in everyday conversations, such as asking for someone’s perspective and responding with well-structured opinions. Students were given the opportunity to practice these expressions through guided dialogues and open discussions, helping them move beyond memorization and toward genuine communication.

The lesson created a lively classroom atmosphere, with students sharing their views on a range of relatable topics through an interactive game of “Would You Rather?”
Jason encouraged participation from all students, fostering a supportive environment where even hesitant speakers felt comfortable contributing. His approach blended structured instruction with spontaneous conversation, giving students both the language tools and the confidence they needed.
Jason Yan is currently teaching at SMK Krian 2 Sidoarjo, Jawa Timur.
