ETA Caroline Kim believes that the most compelling case for America is its diversity. Throughout her grant year, she has engaged in and witnessed the many nuances of diplomacy. In the month of April, she tried her hand in one particular form of diplomacy: culinary diplomacy!
In preparation for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a month that celebrates the achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States, Caroline and her community cooked a variety of Korean dishes. Together, they made kimbap and Korean fried rice. They even tried the Samyang nuclear fire noodles challenge. It was fire.
Caroline Kim is currently teaching at MAN 1 Model Manado, North Sulawesi
