Molly Kimmel, the director of the Rural Institute for Inclusive Communities at the University of Montana in Missoula, is collaborating with Universitas Jember in East Java, Indonesia, through the Fulbright Specialist Program, September 9–27, 2025. Their project focuses on capacity building for quality education through the use of assistive technology.

An occupational therapist by training, Molly worked for eleven years at Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula before serving as program director of MonTECH, Montana’s statewide assistive technology program. In her current role leading the Rural Institute, she advances a mission of building access and opportunity for people with disabilities through education, research, evaluation, and service. Her professional interests include assistive technology, promoting best practices in healthcare and education, and helping individuals achieve greater independence and belonging.
