Nicholas Kloor is a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) co-teaching English at SMKN 2 Ambon, Maluku.
Nicholas graduated from Kenyon College with a double major in Music and Japanese. He plays the trumpet and drums, composes, and has studied Ethnomusicology. He is interested in exploring the power that music has to bridge cultures.
In addition to his time at Kenyon, Nicholas has spent a year studying at Waseda University, located in Tokyo, Japan. He speaks Japanese and performed at various venues around Tokyo during his year. He also spent a month teaching English at public schools in the rural part of Shimane Prefecture.
He is excited to learn about Indonesia’s rich musical culture and history, and to share his love of music with his students.
