Hazel Vineet is a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) co-teaching English at SMAN 3 Padang, Sumatra Barat.

Hazel earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy and data science from the College of William & Mary. Her passion for educational policy and equity has shaped her academic, professional, and community engagement work.

Growing up in multicultural communities as an immigrant inspired her interest in cross-cultural learning, civic engagement, and accessible education. She has worked on international education and development initiatives, supported community-based advocacy efforts, and conducted research on global policy and education systems.

In Indonesia, Hazel is especially excited to learn more about local education practices, community life, and cultural traditions. She is particularly interested in exploring Indonesian arts and public life through cultural performances, local dialogue, and opportunities for intercultural exchange. She also loves orangutans and hopes she can see some in Indonesia.
