Not only to learn but how to learn, not only to succeed but how to be successful. The opportunity given by the Fulbright Program is not only to learn science, knowledge and technology in the U.S., but more also to provide me with character building and life values achievement journey. As a Fulbrighter in 2002, I have acquired more than just a master’s degree. Life in a heterogeneous society makes us wiser in behaving and taking decision. Chicago gives almost the entire real illustration of American life. Regularity and orderliness of its society give a distinct color to the American culture. The picture that the Americans are egoistic individualists hardly ever I encountered. American Nation in reality is indeed a friendly society, who is always ready to assist and give opportunity to others. They are by no means arrogant, the impression that people had before they experienced living in the U.S. by themselves. An appreciation to differing opinions represents the root of the American society.

Fulbright Program gave me the “pass-ticket” to continue my study at Padjadjaran University earning my Doctoral degree in Cyber and Telecommunications Law in 2009; in addition, I have been entrusted to be one of Commissioners of the Indonesian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (BRTI) under the supervison of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. I have also been involved in the legislation process of the Indonesian Cyber Law Act (UU ITE) and been member of the Indonesian Delegation to such international conferences as International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Being a Fulbrighter actually is not a destination of success, it is a great lifetime journey.
