Growing up in the suburbs, ETA Anisha Tyagi had selected options for fun. They were movies, books and strolling through the mall. As a cultural ambassador, she felt a responsibility to share her suburban past times with her neighbor’s kids. Already having gotten one of them hooked to Harry Potter (in Indonesian alas, but the story is still golden), she decided to take them to the movies. What better movie to watch than critically acclaimed “Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse”? Getting to the theater late for their intended showing meant that the group had two hours to kill before the next showing. The arcade was chosen as a fun sink for both time and money. A simple game of high striker, where six-year-old Rafi struck a target as hard as he could, awarded the group 600 tickets. They left the evening with too many prizes won from too many tickets and memories of a great movie. It was Rafi’s very first time and Anisha was humbled and excited to be part of it.
Anisha Tyagi is currently teaching at SMKN 6 Semarang, Central Java
