April 2019 Edition

Welcome to the April edition of the ETA Monthly Highlights! Ten months flew by quickly!  It was an emotional and reflective month for many ETAs as they focused on concluding their grant experience. They spent their time wrapping up their classroom and extracurricular responsibilities. They also said farewells to community members.

A Day of Achievement, Appreciation, and Celebration

WORDS, Women’s Month, Earth Day all in a month

April was an eventful month. The annual WORDS competition was a major success and the 22 students who represented their city and their school enjoyed getting to know each other. ETA Kiyoko “Kiki” Nakamura-Koyama has been practicing Silat since October last year. She used to practice with a local middle school, but then switched to adult practices on Friday nights.
