On February 13, ETAs Nathan Danielson, Emilie Thomas, and Joseph Miller assisted at an educational fair in Medan at the request of EducationUSA. Working alongside Regional English Language Office (RELO), a Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) fellow, EducationUSA, and the US Consulate in Medan, North Sumatra, as well as US Universities, yielded great insight into the opportunities available to Indonesian students interested in studying in the United States.

The collaboration also provided a great opportunity for discussing future projects together, such as social media highlights, competitions, and workshops. Nathan, Emilie, and Joe also brought prospective students that had the chance to hear about US universities, colleges, and scholarships that they might be interested in. They were very excited to meet other Americans and collect information. While working at the event, Indonesian students asked ETAs a variety of questions, such as where they might want to study and how to complete applications. The educational fair was bookended between a networking lunch and US Consulate promotional video, as well as an evening at Pizza Hut with ETAs and their students.

Nathan Danielson is currently teaching at SMKN 1 Beringin in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.
