Darby graduated from Arizona State University in 2017 with dual degrees in Global Studies and Justice Studies and a minor in Spanish. She was inspired to apply for a Fulbright in Indonesia after spending a semester assisting in two ESL classrooms at a high school in central Phoenix and after years of working with children. She is most excited about learning a new language and soaking up Indonesia’s rich culture and history.
After she returns from her Fulbright ETA, she will be moving to Massachusetts to teach ESL as Teach for America corps member in a Title I school.
For her Fulbright ETA program, Darby will be placed at East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan where she will co-teach at SMAN 2 Sangatta Utara.
