Dian Ramawati is working on a doctorate degree in disability studies at the State University of New York (SUNY), Stony Brook, New York.
She has a deep professional and personal concern for the situation of people living with disabilities. Her research interest is on the self-perceptions of young people with disabilities in Indonesia, and the cultural role of the family in Indonesia in dealing with a disability.
She holds a master’s-level degree in nursing from the University of Indonesia and is a permanent lecturer at Jenderal Soedirman University in Purwokerto, Central Java.
