Diana Parker is a PhD student at the Department of Geographical Science, University of Maryland.
Her US Fulbright Student research project is entitled “The Wehea Forest Reserve: A Case Study of Successful Forest Protection in Indonesia.” She is trying to understand through her research what led to the creation of the Wehea Forest Reserve in East Kalimantan and how the stakeholders were able to successfully collaborate to manage the area as a protected forest.
She is collaborating with Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta and Mulawarman University in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. Prior to starting her field research, she is studying intensive Indonesian in Yogyakarta.
