Christopher Foertsch holds a master’s in Applied Anthropology from Oregon State University. He arrived in Indonesia in December, 2016 to start his 9-month project under the US Fulbright Student Research grant entitled “Educational Migration in Indonesia: An Ethnography of Eastern Indonesian Students in Malang, Java.”
Chris wants to study the experience of certain ethnic minority students from Eastern Indonesia who come to Java for higher education. Through his research, he hopes he could inform educators in Indonesia and other countries about the nature of educational migration, within and between nations. He is supported with his counterparts in the Kanjuruhan University in Malang, East Java.
