Alex Laplaza received his bachelor’s of arts in International Studies with a minor in Economics from American University in Washington, DC in May 2016, where he specialized in Global Environmental Politics and International Development.

Alex received a Fulbright Student Research grant for a project called “Community-Level Institutional Adaptation to Water Scarcity in Lombok.” He is affiliated with Universitas Mataram (UNRAM) to carry out his research project. Through his research, he hopes to empirically verify how successful the musyawarah mufakat process is as a response to water scarcity in the area. He plans to complete his research project in August 2017.
