Diaz is a lecturer at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, East Java. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in statistics from ITS in 2008 and 2011, respectively.
She would like to pursue a Doctoral degree in the field of reliability engineering. Her research found that quality is highly affected by the reliability of components, for example pipeline cracks may degrade the quality of the substance that it holds. Reliability is also a main factor which determines worker safety, for instance hull leaks from small-undetected cracks may endanger passengers’ lives. Her proposed study is related to the development of statistical methods for non-destructive evaluation data e.g. crack detection on turbines, engine fan blades, and pipelines.
Upon completion of her degree program, she will return to ITS to do research on public policy.
For her Fulbright Doctoral degree program in statistics, Diaz is placed at Iowa State University of Science and Technology.
