Dr. Agustinus Ribal is researching oceanography at the University of Miami. His research “Observations of land-sea-air interactions in the coastal area and its application to operational forecast models” aims to improve ocean wave and wind forecasting models to be applied in Indonesia.

He is a lecturer at Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s from Curtin University, Australia. He holds a Phd in mathematics applied to ocean engineering from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia.
