Dr Dewi Satria Elmiana from Universitas Mataram Publication and Conference Management Center researches teaching English to speakers of other languages at the University of Rochester with a project on “Pedagogical Representation of Visual Images in EFL Textbooks.”  She hopes on her return to provide useful knowledge and feedback to textbook developers, illustrators, teachers, and students in Indonesia and abroad.

She earned her PhD in Teaching English as a second or foreign language from Queen’s University Belfast, UK.  Her bachelor’s degree from Universitas Mataram and her master’s from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta – both in English teaching.
