Dr. Ernawati Arifin Giri Rachman

Dr. Ernawati Arifin Giri Rachman is a lecturer in chemistry at Institut Teknologi Bandung.

She’s currently conducting a research project on molecular biology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University entitled “Yeast-engineered nanobodies targeting norovirus and rotavirus for immunoprevention, immunotherapy, and early diagnosis.” In addition to addressing the critical public health issue of combatting these diarrhea-causing viruses, she aims to contribute to Indonesia’s educational and research environment, bolstering its global standing in biotechnology, immunology, and infectious diseases.

She holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s in chemistry from that university and a PhD in pathology and microbiology from the University of Bristol, U.K.
