Dr. Ely Djulia Katmadihardja is a lecturer in biology education at Universitas Negeri Medan.

She holds three degrees from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Bandung: a bachelor’s degree in biology education, a master’s in science education, and a PhD in science education focusing on indigenous science.

Her current research project at Florida State University is on biology teacher education. It is entitled “The SC-STEM-RL Framework to Support Culturally Responsive Secondary Science Approach in Pre-service Teacher Professional Education in Indonesia.” She would like to examine STEM education in the US and how it is culturally responsive in its teaching approach.
