Dr. I Nyoman Candra is a lecturer in chemistry at Universitas Bengkulu.

His current research project is on environmental sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he is investigating the potential for carbon sequestration of volcanic soil by investigating its mineralogy and geochemistry. He is the author of several published articles in his field and is eager to collaborate with American scholars on future research on the same topic.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Universitas Gadjah Mada, a master’s degree in environmental chemistry from Technische Universität Braunschweig, and a PhD in soil chemistry from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.
