Dr. Hurriyah is a lecturer in political science and director of the Center for Political Science at Universitas Indonesia.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Universitas Indonesia (UI), a master’s in ASEAN studies from Universiti Malaya, and a PhD in political sociology from UI.

Her research project on minority politics and human rights at Boston University is entitled “Religious Freedom, Civic Space, and the Struggle of minority religions in Indonesia.” She plans to connect with experts who can give her insights into the growing studies of religion and politics in Indonesia.
