
Dr Ida Susanti is researching law at Columbia University for three months, with a project entitled “Progress and challenges in unraveling modern slavery in Southeast Asia: An elusive vision of a slavery-free society.” She is taking the opportunity to learn from the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Person at the US Department of State and from a US-based organization, Verité, which deals intensively with issues concerning modern slavery.
Dr Ida has three degrees in law: her undergraduate degree is from Universitas Katolik Parahyangan, and her graduate and postgraduate degrees are from the University of Groningen, Netherlands.
Currently, she is a lecturer in law at Universitas Katolik Parahyangan, Bandung.
