Dr. Nancy Muturi serves as a Fulbright Specialist at the Diploma 3 Nursing Study Program, Ministry of Health Polytechnic in Sorong, West Papua, from November 17 to December 6, 2025. Her project with the host institution focuses on strengthening the communication skills of healthcare workers and students in supporting patients with long-term health conditions.
She is a professor in the Department of Media and Communication at Kansas State University and is also affiliated with the university’s Master’s in Public Health program. Her work focuses on health communication, particularly in the areas of communication and behavior-change strategies that contribute to improved health outcomes. She also researches climate change communication and environmental literacy in local communities.
Dr. Muturi has extensive international experience in teaching, research, and practical applications in Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States, with a particular interest in applying health communication approaches in resource-constrained settings.
