Dr Novitri Hastuti’s research is in forest technology at the United States Department of Agriculture. Her research project is “Nanostructured Paper from Cellulose Nanofibers as Wearable Temperature Sensor Components” – a super-thin thermometer from wood-based fibers. She wants to further her expertise in nanocellulose research and hopes to apply it on an industrial scale to help contribute to the advancement of science and development in Indonesia.

Dr Novitri is a researcher at the Research Center for Biomass and Bioproducts, National Research and Innovation Agency, Republic of Indonesia (BRIN).

She earned her bachelor’s degree in forestry from Universitas Gadjah Mada, did a joint master’s in forestry at Institut Pertanian Bogor and Universite de Lorraine, France, and received a PhD in agricultural sciences from Kyushu University, Japan.
