Dr. Sugeng Budiharta is researching ecology at the University of California-Santa Cruz. His project is “Developing a carbon and biodiversity offsetting framework for paying for forest restoration.” He plans to seek more resources to contribute to his research, which is mainly related to policies on carbon and biodiversity offsets for paying for forest restoration.

Dr. Sugeng is a senior researcher at the Research Center for Ecology and Ethnobiology, BRIN.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Institut Pertanian Bogor, a master’s in biological sciences, and a doctorate in environmental sciences, both from the University of Queensland.
