Dr. Suryani Eka Wijaya is currently conducting research in Transportation Planning. Her project, titled “Funding Transit-Oriented Development in the Global South: Lessons Learnt from American Cities,” hopes to benefit the growth of urban development and the transportation sector, contributing to new knowledge and improving the quality of policy and development planning practices.
Dr. Suryani earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada, a master’s degree in engineering management and policy from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, and a PhD in planning from Massey University, New Zealand. She serves as an urban and regional planner at the Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) in West Nusa Tenggara.
