Dr. Syahril Siddik is a lecturer in Islamic studies at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English literature from UIN Malang. He also earned a master’s degree in Islamic studies and a doctoral degree in Southeast Asia studies, both from the University of Leiden, Netherlands.
As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, he conducts research in cultural anthropology at Emory University, particularly on Establishing Islamic Legal Foundations and Global Religious Networks: Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah in Addressing Ecological Crisis in Indonesia. He aims to explore further his research interests, including the relationship between Islam, and environment in Southeast Asia and beyond.
