Eka is a lecturer at Universitas Merdeka Malang. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Law from Universitas Brawijaya and Universitas Indonesia in 2009 and 2012.

He wants to pursue a doctoral degree in Law focusing on Cyber Crime. His proposed study is related to online defamation, how a legal framework should define the boundary between defamation and freedom of speech. He hopes his doctoral degree in law (JD) and research about online defamation laws in the United States will give new insights on how online defamation laws are enforced.

When he returns he plans to write about online defamation, which gets little exposure in Indonesia law literature, and do additional research about new cybercrime legislation. He also plans to establish a research center to do research in cyber law.

For his doctoral degree in Law, Eka is placed at Indiana University, Bloomington.
