Erlina is working on a PhD in teaching and learning at the Ohio State University, specializing in students’ literacy development and pedagogical implication applied to teaching English as a foreign language.

She is a lecturer at Universitas Sriwijaya, South Sumatra, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English education. Her master’s in language and education was from Flinders University, Australia.
