Farida Purnama Sari is studying photonic communications engineering at The University of Arizona. She believes that this field is still a novelty in Indonesia, it has promising future applications and could be implemented in various formats.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in telecommunication engineering from Institut Teknologi Telkom.

She worked as an asset engineer at ICON+, an Internet Service Provider company, Denpasar, Bali. Her responsibilities are to create and manage databases, both in MSOffice and local application, and also to make improvement planning for the customer’s transmission line.

Upon completion of the Fulbright MA program, she intends to contribute to the development of photonic in Indonesia by joining the research team and collaborating with telecommunication industries. She would like to share her expertise with professionals who want to develop photonic applications and students of higher education institutions
