ETA Said Haji started September off with great enthusiasm to tackle the new lessons and English club. Said and his co-teacher designed an interactive lesson on giving compliments by first modeling it, followed by a game of cabbage ball. The students were super giddy to play the game, and by design of the game, the students were extremely enthusiastic due to the nature of the silly notes. They finished the lesson off with students getting random sticky notes of other student’s names, and writing them compliments. It was a great way to get the students engaged, and decorate the classroom with beautiful notes!

During September Said also held the first English club meeting, and that first meeting was dedicated to discussing Hispanic Heritage Month. Said broke down key terms such as Hispanic, Latinx, and Spanish. The students were able to get a first-hand account of the true diversity of the United States through this lecture. The lesson was concluded by listening to popular music from Latinx and Hispanic artists.
