This month at SMAN 1 Demak, ETA Madison “Maddy” Mele celebrated Halloween with her kid’s club and English club. On October 25, the weekly kids club met in the library where they picked out a paper mask or a crown to color and create a Halloween costume. Students then walked around the school to the main office and different classrooms to go trick-or-treating. The students and teachers had just as much fun handing out candy as the kids had trick-or-treating and filling their bags with sweets!

On October 24, the English club met and painted old jars that were being recycled as ghosts, pumpkins and monsters. The students also took turns reading scary stories in English with spooky lighting from a phone flashlight. At the end of the meeting, students got to fill their jar with candy to take home, even though most of it was eaten before they left.

On October 31, Halloween day, the English club met for its monthly movie viewing to watch “Nightmare Before Christmas” in English. The students loved the movie and couldn’t stop singing the songs afterward. SMAN 1 Demak was full of Halloween spirit this month!
