Haris is a founder and program manager of Food for Indonesia, a charity organization that collects funds and food and distributes it to those in need as well as a platform for improving people’s awareness of health and nutrition through social media. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in health and nutrition from Universitas Brawijaya in 2016.
He wants to pursue a Master’s degree in global/public health to combat malnutrition in Indonesia. He described how Indonesia suffers from a double burden: malnutrition – over nutrition (overweight) and under nutrition (stunting and underweight), mostly children.
Upon completion of the program, he will return to Indonesia and pursue a career as a program manager, evaluator and consultant of health and nutrition programs at the Ministry of Health and with NGOs in West Nusa Tenggara.
For his Fulbright Master’s degree program, Haris is placed at University of Washington to study global health.
