Harsa is a research scientist at Universitas Katolik Widya Karya in Malang, East Java. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Universitas Kristen Petra and Universitas Brawijaya in 2001 and 2006.  His main interests are automation and energy conversion, in which he found that a PhD degree in robotics will round up his skill and knowledge in those aforementioned fields.

His proposed study is related to the application of robotics in sustainable agriculture, in which an autonomous robot powered by solar power and stored as compressed air; apply precision agriculture in marginal land.

Upon completion of the doctoral degree program, he intends to return to his home institution, to gain international research funding for implementation project of robotics in agriculture, to activate multidisciplinary research and collaborative research with his colleagues in the United States.

For his Fulbright Doctoral degree program in engineering technology, Harsa is placed at Mississippi State University.
