Fathiyyah is the ministerial communication adviser at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Jakarta. She is assigned in the Government Public Relations Special Task Force to strengthen the Public Relations Bureau at the Ministry and to build the Ministerial Communication Strategy. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) in 2010 and Master’s degree in international relations from the University of Melbourne in 2014. Her main interest is in Political Symbolism, which often used as the effective weapon in creating certain images and perception.

She aims to pursue her Doctoral degree in political science, studying the impacts of political symbols in elections due to its destructive impacts towards the unity of a country and its ability to delegitimize the government.

Upon the completion of the program, she intends to return to academic teaching career and continues to contribute to support the Indonesia’s government communication strategy.

For her Fulbright Doctoral degree program in political science, Fathiyyah is placed at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
