Eky is a junior researcher at Center for Plantation Based Industry in Makassar, South Sulawesi. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya in 2006 and Master’s degree in media and governance from Keio University, Japan in 2015. During her work, her research focus has been in the field of cocoa and its derivative products, which some of her works were presented in meetings and published in scientific articles and journal. Her main interest is in Green Chemistry, in which she found that Green Chemistry can reduce environmental impact of chemical process and synthesize. Her proposed study is related to the depolymerizayion of organosolv lignin from biomass source.
Upon completion of the doctoral degree program, she intends to return to the Center for Plantation Based Industry.
For her Fulbright Doctoral degree program in forestry and forest products, Eky is placed at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
