Imam Civi Cartealy is using a Fulbright grant to study for a doctorate in computer science (bioinformatics) at the University of Delaware, which has an interdisciplinary center to explore the uses of computer science in addressing issues in biology.

He earned his MS in molecular biology from the University of Queensland, and has been working since 2002 at the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) on various genomics and informatics projects.
