During the last week of August, ETA Nathan “Nate” Kumar returned to his site at Gresik in East Java. During this week, Nate was able to co-teach his eager and enthusiastic students at SMA NU 1 Gresik. For the first lesson with Nate, students were taught how to introduce themselves to others. The lesson was highlighted by the last activity which tasked students with creating a book about themselves using the material covered earlier in the lesson.

This was a great way for students to display their artistic talents, to learn more about each other, and – most importantly – to practice their English. One page of the book was dedicated to the students’ dream job.

Nate was excited to see the number of students who hoped to become doctors, businessmen and businesswomen, musicians, and teachers in the future. Nathan Kumar is looking forward to continuing to learn about and co-teach these bright and ambitious students.
