Joshua is a research assistant in the physical chemistry laboratory, Department of Chemistry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Universitas Sumatera Utara. His main interest is in membrane materials. He believes that in the near future knowledge of membrane materials will play a crucial part in solving the coming water crisis in Indonesia.
His proposed study is related to water treatment technologies where graphene oxide membranes can be used as material for water purification. In its raw form, graphite, which is used to produce graphene oxide, is abundant in North Sumatra.
Upon completion of the master’s degree program, he will to return to Indonesia to implement the knowledge that he will get from his studies.
For his Master’s degree program, Joshua is placed at University of Central Florida to study environmental engineering
