Karina Putri Indrasari is undertaking graduate work for a PhD in political science at State University of New York at Albany. Her proposed doctoral study would look at the radicalization of Indonesian migrant workers through online media – an interdisciplinary study involving work on migration, terrorism, human rights, and international political economy
Karina is a lecturer at Pelita Harapan University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Seattle University and her master’s degree in international relations from the University of Birmingham, UK. She began her career as a political consultant in PolMark Indonesia, where she coordinated seminars for 2014 legislative candidates and also managed the survey results of the candidates’ electability.
Post her DIKTI-Fulbright award, she plans to actively engage in communities or NGOs to help in deradicalization efforts, especially of migrant workers.
