Krisnawati Suryanata holds a PhD in geography from the University of California, Berkeley. She is currently working as Associate Professor of Geography Department at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
She arrived in Indonesia in January 2018 to start her six-month teaching fellowship under the US Fulbright Scholar grant entitled “the political ecology of agricultural and rural change in Indonesia.” She hopes to share her conceptual tools in teaching and researching geography of agriculture and food, and to identify critical research questions in contemporary rural Java. She is supported by the Faculty of Geography, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta.
Grant is completed in July 2018.
