Lumban Arofah is pursuing anthropology at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale with an interest in rural development, especially the shortcomings of government social develop programs in rural areas.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from  Airlangga University and his master’s in urban social development from Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies, Erasmus University, Rotterdam.

Lumban is a lecturer at Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarmasin.
