Mailani Kamilah is currently teaching Indonesian language at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
During her FLTA program, she would like to learn more about English language from the native speakers because she finds it important to understand the way the native speakers think through the language in order for her develop a more applicable materials for her Indonesian students in American context.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Education from Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Gunung Djati in 2010. She has been teaching General English and Conversation classes at the Language Center of Institut Teknologi Bandung since 2011. In addition to teaching English, she also teaches Bahasa Indonesia for Foreigners both in private and classes for the past 3 years
Upon the completion of the FLTA program, she would like to implement the newly acquired experiences, knowledge and ideas to her English and Indonesian language classrooms at her home institution. She would share her experiences to her colleagues through formal and informal discussions.
