Marlyn is a lecturer at Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Aquaculture from Universitas Nusa Cendana and from Wageningen University in 2004 and 2009. She wants to pursue a Doctoral degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries to continue her previous study and research. Upon completion of her degree program, she intends to return to Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Kupang. She plans that her knowledge and understanding of aquaculture and fisheries science will be applied to teaching sustainable practices in aquaculture, particularly in Nusa Tenggara Timur.

For her Fulbright Doctoral degree program in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, Marlyn is placed at University of Florida.
