Michael recently graduated from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine where he majored in education and biochemistry and completed the pre-dental track.
His interest in the Fulbright ETA grant in Indonesia stems from his passion for both teaching and public health. Experiences teaching refugee and ESL students in general science classrooms in Maine, and co-teaching/designing a summer course on sustainability and river ecology for high school students in Connecticut sparked Michael’s love for working with young people. Michael believes education is critical to mental and physical health for both individuals and their broader communities; he looks forward to learning more about the interplay of health and education in his host community. Michael hopes to learn from and form connections with neighbors, teachers, and students.
Following his Fulbright ETA program in Indonesia, he hopes to attend dental school and pursue a career in dental public health.
For his Fulbright ETA program, Michael will be placed at South Sulawesi, where he will co-teach at SMKN 1 Tana Toraja.
