As Fulbright US–ASEAN Visiting Scholar, Dr Michelle Engel Limenta’s research topic is “Paving the Way Toward the Inclusion of Trade and Sustainable Development Sections in ASEAN’s Future Free Trade Agreements.” She believes the United States, a frontrunner in linking trade and sustainability as well as ASEAN’s important strategic partner, is the best place to do so.

Michelle is an associate professor at Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) and director of the UPH Center for International Trade and Investment.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Trisakti University, a master’s in international business law from the University of Leiden, the Netherlands, and a PhD in international trade law from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
