Tyagita Silka Hapsari researches “Artificial Intelligence Governance: A Policy Framework in ASEAN” in Washington, DC, where she can meet with key stakeholders: tech firms, academia, international organizations, and regulators. The United States is at the forefront of global AI investments and research, with think tanks and academia conducting studies on the multiple facets of AI development.

Tya is a communications supervisor at the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Jakarta.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Universitas Indonesia and, with a Fulbright Visiting Student grant, her master’s in international affairs from George Washington University.
